A few of us were invited by Chin of Coffee Ritual for a tasting session of some single origin coffee from Five Senses of Australia. The session started with the Yigarcheffe roasted on 8 March 2010. The comments from the tasters were hints of jasmine tea, floral, citrus fruits with ‘tong kwai’ or angelica roots. The next coffee we tasted was the Ethopian Sidamo also roasted on 8 March 2010. This bean was “in the face” or bold with floral rose and wine hints. Chin used the drip method to brew the coffee which brought out beautiful characters of the various beans. KF Chan pull some espresso with the Sidamo and the result was a bright floral cup with some saltiness. After so many rounds and the coffee level in our systems was getting to the maximum limit, we reluctantly drank the Costa Rica. We were probably blur by now. Can’t remember much. Jean Se described it as bright, medium body and nutty. I end rounded up the afternoon with a roasting demonstration. It was an enjoyable afternoon. Thank you Chin, Ee Mei for your invitation. Here are some of the pics from the afternoon.
What has coffee, men and love have in common? Saw these two signs during my Chaing Mai Cycle Tour last year. Interesting……..
